Luna was pulled from animal control in pretty rough condition... She appears to have whelped several litters, her ears are cropped and infected, her face and arms are scarred, her coat is dry and sparse, her skin is raw and red, yet she’s so happy and trusting of us (see the little blur behind her in the first picture? That’s her tail wapping with fury!)
Luna went to the vet and got a lot of meds to help her heal - antibiotics, allergy medications, ear ointment, shampoo. Unfortunately, we also learned that she has mast cell tumors, two of them. These types of growths are cancerous, and the severity her tumors won’t be known until we remove them and send them for testing, however her skin needs to heal before we take her to surgery.
